What should I know about the apartment layout?

It's a second-floor unit with somewhat steep stairs, which a few guests noted might not work for everyone. The setup includes two twin beds on a patio space, which some found a bit unusual. The AC is window units (the bedroom one can be loud but works well), and laundry is coin-operated. No dishwasher, but the kitchen is well-equipped with essentials including a coffee maker and coffee.

Can I walk to restaurants and shops?

Yes. There's a strip mall with restaurants one block away in the opposite direction from the beach. The pier, Ron Jon's, and several bars and restaurants are all within easy walking distance. Beachside Vacation Rentals did absolutely great with the home away from home. Host is amazing. The apartment is a very short walk to the beach. Literally right across the street. Beach chairs and towels and umbrellas were also available so it was grab and go to the beach and relax. Made the stay very comfortable.

Check out and in nice and easy, we didn’t rent a car and a lot of things were walkable including the pier and the famous ron jons. communication with host was great!

We enjoyed staying here and being so close to the beach. A sunrise walk to the beach was lovely, and we were able to park at the apartment before checkin time and walk to the pier for lunch (parking at the pier was expensive). The apartment was cozy and we appreciated the closet of beach toys (particularly the boogie boards) and the beach towels. I appreciated quick text responses to my inquiries. It was a little more rustic than other places I’ve stayed (no dishwasher, laundry is coin operated and shared with the complex, bedside table is just a folding table with cloth on top, ac is great but I wished I could have opened windows and enjoyed the cool evening air instead), but I think the price and location probably called for a little cut in luxury.
