DESCRIPTION:You are invited to the Annual Book Fest in Historic Cocoa Village for a day of literary fun. \nReaders of all ages are welcome to meet writers\, purchase some great books by local authors\, and enjoy a book walk through Historic Cocoa Village.  Stores throughout the Village will have guest authors for the day; providing you with some literary enjoyment while you shop. \nAt Tails at the Barkery\, Touch of Grey Rescue will be showcasing their books\, Farkle Finds His Furever Home\, based on the true story of a special needs shelter dog; and\, ‘Twas The Night Before Dogmas\, both written by local author Wendy Johnson\, President and Founder of Touch of Grey Rescue. \n“Paw-signed” books will be available for purchase with all proceeds going to Touch of Grey Rescue\, a 501c3 senior dog rescue founded in Brevard County in February of 2019.  The organization is an all foster-based nonprofit whose mission is to provide foster care\, rehoming assistance and hospice care to senior dogs that have been left behind by their owners or who are residing in shelters. \nFor the safety of our animals and friends\, all pets must be on a leash\, or in appropriate carriers\, and have current vaccinations and county tags.

DESCRIPTION:Music carries its own genetic code. It reveals who we are\, and where we come from. It holds the identities of entire communities and has no respect for political boundaries. Music moves freely across borders\, even when people cannot. This exciting program will feature six exciting works from around the world\, showcasing classical masterpieces inspired by rich folk traditions. Native American folk songs will also be highlighted in a new and thrilling work from Mark Piszczek\, titled Song Catcher. The concert is rounded out with three very popular works from around the globe\, Aaron Copland’s exciting Billy the Kid\, Percy Grainger’s gorgeous Irish Tune from County Derry\, and Dvorak’s electrifying Slavonic Dances. \n$35 tickets for the concert are available through the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at Marine Bank & Trust. Tickets at the door are $40. Concertgoers aged 18 and under or with a college ID are admitted free to every SCSO concert.
